PERTH, Jan 5 AAP - A female police officer from Western Australia's Margaret River has been suspended from driving and fined $600 after pleading guilty to drink driving while on duty.

Senior Constable Rebecca Harris, 32, recorded a blood alcohol limit of more than 0.08 when driving a police vehicle on duty on November 29.

Harris entered a guilty plea in the Margaret River Magistrates Court on Monday via a representative.

She was suspended from driving for five months and required to pay $60 in court costs.

The senior constable has been stood down on full pay from operational duties and will be transferred within the police force.

An internal investigation will be conducted and her future will be decided by Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan, a police media spokesman said.
